Liverpool have rejected two bids for Nat Phillips as the defender looks increasingly set to leave Anfield in January.
The 24-year-old has been limited to three appearances so far this season, having played a key role in helping the Reds qualify for the Champions League last year, and has recently returned to training after suffering a fractured cheekbone.
Both player and manager Jurgen Klopp have publicly admitted the centre-back could leave the club in January.
The ECHO understands that Liverpool have so far rejected two approaches for Phillips, one of which is from Watford, with interest expected to escalate in the coming days.

The Reds’ asking-price for the centre-back, who has made 24 appearances for Liverpool, remains at £15m, with it understood sporting director Michael Edwards points to the £12m sum Burnley paid Stoke City for Nathan Collins last summer.
Rhys Williams is also set to be recalled from his loan spell with Swansea City in a further indication that Phillips will indeed move on.
The 20-year-old, who signed a new long-term contract with the Reds in the summer, has featured just seven times for the Swans since joining the Championship side on a season-long loan.
His last league appearance came against Middlesbrough at the start of December, while he wasn’t even in Russell Martin’s squad for Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Huddersfield Town.
Elsewhere, club insiders aren’t currently aware of any plans for Paul Glatzel to return to Liverpool and cut his season-long loan with Tranmere Rovers short.

The 20-year-old scored his fifth goal of the season after coming on as a substitute against Salford City last week, but was absent from the side that beat Rochdale last weekend.
Glatzel has made 16 appearances for Tranmere in all competitions so far this season, but only started six times in League Two in what has been his first taste of senior football, having returned from a serious knee injury last year.
