Liverpool defender Kostas Tsimikas has claimed he and his teammates will have to be aware of the threat Newcastle United pose in attack at Anfield. The Magpies head to Merseyside hoping to continue their unbeaten start to the season as they sit seventh in the Premier League, two points ahead of Wednesday’s opponents.
Newcastle’s most impressive result of the season so far came against Liverpool’s title rivals Manchester City, whom they held to a 3-3 draw at St. James’ Park. The likes of Allan Saint-Maximin, Callum Wilson and Miguel Almiron caused City’s defence all sorts of problems that afternoon.
While Wilson and potentially Saint-Maximin may not be available, Newcastle will be hoping to call on the services of a new £58 million signing Alexander Isak for the first time. Eddie Howe now has an abundance of top attacking players at his disposal.

Speaking to liverpoolfc.com, Tsimikas praised the level of quality Newcastle have in the attacking third of the field and insists the Reds must be ‘focused’ if they are to secure all three points.
He said: "When you play at this top level, you have to forget one win very fast because after two, three days you play the next game.
"We have to see every game differently because every game is very difficult and we have to be well prepared for everything. This is the only thing we have to do and always we do.
"It's a good team. They have very good, talented players up front – very fast, very quick and very technical. We have to be focused if we want to achieve something.
"We have to win every personal duel, in my opinion, and to score from the first chance we will get. We expect one very hard game."
