Liverpool predicted line-up vs Man City with Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota decisions made

Liverpool are back in Premier League action this weekend as they take on Manchester City.

The Reds travel to the Etihad Stadium to face Man City in their first fixture after the international break. It sees Liverpool continue their quest to secure a top four finish in the Premier League.

Jurgen Klopp’s side go into the fixture in sixth place in the league table and seven points adrift of fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur with two games in hand. In contrast, Man City are second and 19 points above the Reds.

Liverpool will hope to have some of their previously unavailable players for the trip to Manchester. Jordan Henderson missed the clash against Real Madrid before the international break, but returned to feature for England and should be able to feature for the Reds provided there’s no late fitness issues.

There were question marks over Darwin Nunez, who was withdrawn from the Uruguay squad over the international break with a cut ankle. Liverpool posted a video on Thursday showing the striker taking part in training with the rest of the squad, before Klopp confirmed he'd be available for the game in his Friday press conference.

Cody Gakpo was temporarily withdrawn from the Netherlands squad due to illness, before returning and later playing 45 minutes against Gibraltar. He was also seen in a video posted by Liverpool in a training session on Thursday.

GET INVOLVED: Pick your Liverpool team to face Man City below:

One player who will not be involved is Thiago Alcantara, with the midfielder still recovering from a hip flexor injury. Luis Diaz has returned to training from a long-term knee injury, but is not expected to be back involved for the clash at the Etihad.

Alisson Becker and Fabinho were not part of the Brazil squad during the international break, and should be fully rested for the trip to Manchester. Meanwhile, Trent Alexander-Arnold will be in a similar position after not featuring for England.

Ibrahima Konate, Virgil van Dijk, Andy Robertson, Harvey Elliott and Mohamed Salah all featured for their respective countries over the break. Fitness providing, all should hopefully be available in some way to take part against Man City.

Predicted Liverpool line-up: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Fabinho, Elliott, Henderson; Salah, Nunez, Gakpo.
