Liverpool player ratings as Trent Alexander-Arnold and three more excellent in Fulham win

Alisson Becker 8

Made good stop to deny Vinicius first half and then produced an even better save from the same player in final quarter. Big moments when it mattered.

Trent Alexander-Arnold 8

Close with one effort and Liverpool’s creative hub, particularly when stepping into midfield. Defended with vigour when required. Impressive.

Virgil van Dijk 8

Excellent clearance from Wilson’s cross in front of his own goal and dominant in the air. Read game well after break as Fulham probed.

Ibrahima Konate 7

Cheered the crowd with some slide tackles and good decision-making. Almost caught out by Willian second half, though.

Kostas Tsimikas 6

Mixed bag, often making up for inconsistent distribution and questionable positioning with enthusiasm. Subbed.

Fabinho 7

Was often surrounded by several Fulham players first half but remained composed and covered defence well. Decent showing.

Jordan Henderson 6

Got through the work but was unable to make sufficient impact going forward before break but improved in that regard second half.

Curtis Jones 6

Lively first half showing with some neat touches and strong pressing. Escaped one slack pass into midfield second half, though. Subbed.

Mohamed Salah 7

Caused Fulham problems down the right and close first half after clever footwork. Took his penalty confidently but missed good chance after break. Subbed.

Darwin Nunez 6

Wasn’t found wanting for effort but became increasingly frustrated by making the wrong choice and being slightly on wrong wavelength, However, reacted sharply to win penalty. Subbed.

Luis Diaz 8

Saw one effort deflected wide and a real threat whenever thrusting down the left or from deep. Another fine showing. Subbed.

Andy Robertson (for Tsimikas 66) 6

Declined to shoot when in good position.

Cody Gakpo (for Diaz 66) 7

Brought a bit of class and composed passing when introduced on the left.

Diogo Jota (for Nunez 83)

More minutes for the Portuguese.

Harvey Elliott (for Salah 84)

Cameo against his former club.

James Milner (for Jones 84)

Didn’t waste any time getting stuck in.
