Harvey Davies 6
No chance with Strasbourg’s first two goals but will be disappointed not to keep out the third.
Isaac Mabaya 5
Allowed Thomasson to nip in for the opener by letting the ball bounce. Good pace going forward, though. Subbed.
Ibrahima Konate 6
Slightly rusty in some of his defending and found the Strasbourg front duo tough to handle. Took a knock and subbed.

Joe Gomez 7
Bounced around a little bit by the gigantic Ajorque but will benefit from minutes. Pretty good when switched to right-back for the second half.
Luke Chambers 5
Unwise pass inside gifted Strasbourg their second and sold Milner short with header in build-up to third. Kept going and tested Strasbourg goalkeeper Sels with one shot.
Stefan Bajcetic 6
Found life somewhat more difficult but fought hard to close the gaps on Strasbourg’s dangerous counters. Close with one curled free-kick but tired after break. Subbed.
James Milner 6
Enjoyed himself back playing in midfield and become more influential the longer the game progressed. Probably went to run a marathon after the final whistle.
Tyler Morton 6
Playing in a more advanced role, tried to get Liverpool going with some raking passes but often hounded out. Able to express himself more second half as gaps opened.
Harvey Elliott 7
Given few chances first half with Strasbourg doubling up on him regularly. Improved after break and class began to show.
Fabio Carvalho 6
Shot into side-netting early on and gradually began to get to grips with playing in the central forward role. Should have done better with second-half opening, however.
Melkamu Frauendorf 6
Barely involved first half other than a few flickers of promise. Went seeking the ball after break and benefited from taking initiative.
Nat Phillips (for Mabaya 46) 6
Rare action in pre-season for the centre-back, who is linked with a move away.
Bobby Clark (for Bajcetic 57) 6
Big moment for the teenager, who featured in the Far East tour. Some nice touches.
Sepp van den Berg (for Konate 57) 6
Slotted into the heart of defence with the minimum of fuss.
Mateusz Musialowski (for Frauendorf 76) 6
Wowed the crowd with one run down the left moments after being introduced.
