Caoimhin Kelleher - 6
Could do little about the equaliser but didn't have much to do otherwise.
James Milner - 6
Was always a willing runner and an outlet at right-back. Got forward at every opportunity. Replaced on the hour mark.
Joel Matip - 7
Was excellent once more at the back and had a huge hand in the opening goal. Would comfortably be most top clubs' best centre-back. Lasted over an hour.

Joe Gomez - 6
Neat and tidy without doing anything outstanding. Was solid alongside the more eye-catching Matip.
Andy Robertson - 6
Misjudged the flight of the ball for Milan's leveller but was otherwise his usual self on the left of the back four. Got forward as often as he could. Taken off after an hour.
Stefan Bajcetic - 7
Snapped into a few tackles and looked sharp in possession. Like the Lyon game, the young Spaniard's fledgling reputation grew further here.
Thiago Alcantara - 8
One flick-up and volleyed pass out to Robertson early on was sumptuous, drawing gasps from the crowd. Fizzed one into the bottom corner before the break to give Liverpool the lead once more. So elegant in possession, the tempo-setting midfielder simply has to stay fit. Withdrawn on the hour.
Harvey Elliott - 7
Almost played in Salah when everyone was expecting the shot and was never ruffled when pressed by Milan's midfield. His seniority in the first-team set-up is swelling with each game now.
Mohamed Salah - 7
Took his goal so coolly and forced Mirante into another save a few moments later. Was the subject of some aggressive defending from the Rossoneri but never let it get to him.
Roberto Firmino - 6
Bore the brunt of some Jurgen Klopp fume in the first half for not closing down quickly enough from the front. Showed some touches of class at times, as he tends to do however his overall performance is going. Came off for Nunez.
Alex Oxalde-Chamberlain - 6
Pressed well from the front but should have played in Milner instead of shooting in the first half from about 25 yards. Had a header that was held by the goalkeeper. Carvalho came on in his place.
SUBS
Kostas Tsimikas - 6
Was aggressive in his defending but left most of the attacking on that side to fellow sub Nunez.
Darwin Nunez - 9
A powerful surge down the left almost brought a goal for Salah. Willing to shoot and dribble with the ball at every turn and was so direct. Took his first goal really well before slotting home a second after great work from fellow sub Ben Doak.
Naby Keita - 7
Drove forward through the middle as much as he could, picking some intelligent passes too. More minutes in the bank for the returning midfielder.
Melkamu Frauendorf - 6
Came on in the unfamiliar position of right-back but didn't let that stop him getting forward as often as possible.
Fabio Carvalho - 6
Tried to be inventive at times and kept the ball well when he couldn't create something further forward. Can lack that burst of pace to get past his man in the wide positions.
Adrian - 6
Unlike against Lyon, the veteran Spaniard had very little to do.
Nat Phillips - 6
Was steady at the back alongside Gomez and then Jarell Quansah.
Dom Corness - 6
Was again neat and tidy in midfield with that trusty left foot of his.
Bobby Clark - 8
Played Nunez in for 3-1 with a sensational pass. The inch-perfect ping flew across the turf and into his team-mate's path to tuck away and seal the result. Scores highly for that alone.
Ben Doak - 8
Replaced Salah late on and hit the post in the final minutes before a brilliant piece of wing play put it on a plate for Nunez's second. Almost scored himself in stoppage time. A huge future ahead of him.
Jarell Quansah - 6
Came on for Gomez in the closing stages.
