Liverpool owner John Henry arrives in London for cup final clash with Chelsea

Liverpool principal owner John Henry has flown over to London for tomorrow's Carabao Cup final between Chelsea and Liverpool at Wembley.

Henry, who is rarely spotted at matches of the Reds, was pictured in the English capital today alongside his wife Linda Pizzuti ahead of the showpiece fixture between the two Premier League sides.

Pizzuti shared an image alongside Henry in the Notting Hill area before posting a video of protestors outside the Russian embassy in light of the situation in Ukraine.

Sunday's fixture will represent the first match FSG chief Henry has attended since the European Super League debacle of last April, which led to severe criticism of supporters.

Tomorrow's opponents, Chelsea, were also one of the sides involved in the project but were the first of the English teams to walk away from the controversial plans.

Spotlight will once again be on the owner of the Londoners at Wembley, however, due to Roman Abramovich's position at the club being in flux amid Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

Chelsea released a club statement on behalf of Abramovich this evening, confirming he has handed over ‘stewardship and care’ of Chelsea to the ‘trustees of Chelsea’s charitable Foundation’.
