Liverpool are reportedly in the mix to potentially sign Barcelona starlet Gavi.
The summer transfer window is fast approaching with the Reds continuing to be linked with a host of potential new midfielders. Jude Bellingham and Mason Mount are the two names who have been credited as possible targets.
Now it has emerged that Liverpool could make a move for Gavi. Jurgen Klopp’s side were linked with the Spain international last summer, but he remained at the Nou Camp.

According to The Times, both the Reds and their Premier League rivals Manchester City are "on alert" and are keeping tabs on the situation with Gavi’s future. This is due to reports from Spain that say that La Liga have overturned the teenager's registration as a Barcelona player.
When Liverpool were linked with Gavi last summer, Barca struck a deal to hand the 18-year-old a new contract. The deal saw him become part of the club’s first-team, with a €1bn release clause put into his contract.
At first, the deal was rejected by La Liga due to the league’s financial rules. However, following an appeal from Barcelona, the city's commercial court said that La Liga's decision was wrong, which allowed the contract to be agreed.
But now Relevo are reporting that Gavi’s registration has been “overturned” due to Barca apparently not filing their appeal on time before the deadline, and that he would no longer be a first-team player at the club. Should this remain the case, that means one of the most talented young players in the world will be a free agent at the end of the season.
Barcelona can appeal the decision, but the future of Gavi looks uncertain going into the final months of the season.
Despite this, a report in ESPN claims that Barca have denied that the club missed the deadline for Gavi’s registration. It also says that they do not expect the midfielder to leave as a free agent in the summer.
