Liverpool have offered supporters caught up in the chaos of the Champions League final the chance to attend the pre-season friendly with Strasbourg at Anfield for free.
The Reds were beaten 1-0 by Real Madrid on May 28 at the Stade de France, but the night was overshadowed by the harrowing experiences of thousands of fans of both clubs who were subjected to tear gassings from riot police and muggings from local gangs in Saint-Denis.
Over 9,000 witness testimonies were subsequently written to the club who have demanded firm answers from both the French authorities and UEFA over the failings on the night. Last month, Liverpool chairman Tom Werner tersely called for an explanation from the French government after claiming people at the ground were "treated like cattle".

A number of children was caught up in the mayhem and Liverpool have invited around 550 of those affected at the European showpiece to the final friendly of the pre-season schedule on July 31. The club are keen to provide what sources have described as a "safe space" for the youngsters to enjoy the game and begin something of a healing process with regards to attending football matches in the future.
A letter has been sent to those who will be eligible for the match with the Ligue 1 outfit at the end of the month with Liverpool hopeful the offer will help provide "a level of comfort and reassurance" for children impacted by the events of May 28.
The letter read: “We are acutely aware of how incredibly difficult the experience has been for all supporters who attended the game. The scenes witnessed in and around the Stade de France, before and after kick-off, will live long in the memory for all the wrong reasons.
"The club is also aware that there were some children who attended the match who had such a dreadful experience, that the negative impact has affected their desire to attend football matches in the future.
“We understand that you were accompanied by a child (Under 16), at the UEFA Champions League Final and are therefore contacting you to invite your child and one accompanying adult to the Reds forthcoming pre-season friendly against Strasbourg on Sunday 31st July at Anfield Stadium.
“We hope that by inviting you and your child to Anfield, it will go some way to providing a level of comfort and reassurance so that they feel able and confident to attend football matches, both home and away, in the future.
"As a club we are here to support our supporters. You may be aware, we have put together some guidance to help fans who were in Paris, a copy of this is attached; we encourage you and your child to seek support and advice if needed. The Club has been working with a number of expert mental health organisations to offer support to fans.
"Working with the LFC Foundation, who collaborate with professional mental health services on a daily basis, the Club has compiled a list of organisations supporters can turn to right now."
