Liverpool next six Premier League fixtures compared to title rivals Man City

Liverpool briefly moved to the top of the Premier League after beating Watford 2-0 at Anfield in Saturday's 12:30pm kick off, before Manchester City regained their place at the summit with a 2-0 win of their own over Burnley at Turf Moor just hours later.

Diogo Jota's header broke the deadlock against Watford but the Reds had to wait until minutes before the end of the game to double their advantage as Fabinho smashed a penalty into the top corner at the Kop end.

Liverpool face a hugely important week coming up as they travel to Portugal to take on Benfica in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final before making the shorter journey to the Etihad to do battle with City in a match that could decide the title.

Here's a look at the next six league fixtures for Jurgen Klopp's and Pep Guardiola's teams, to see how they compare...

Manchester United (H) - April 19

Everton (H) - April 24

A huge match at both ends of the table with Liverpool fighting for the title and Everton fighting to avoid the drop. The Blues famously won at Anfield last season for the first time since 1999, and could well need a repeat to prevent relegation to the Championship.

Newcastle United (A) - April 30

The Reds end April with a trip to the north east to take on Newcastle United, who have moved well clear of relegation trouble.

Tottenham Hotspur (H) - May 7

Liverpool's first game in May will be a home match against Champions League-chasing Tottenham at Anfield.

Southampton (A) - May 15

In what is scheduled to be the Reds' penultimate game of the season, they take the long trip down to the south coast to take on Southampton in what is always a tricky away day.
