Liverpool's season plummeted to a new low as they were convincingly defeated by Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux on Saturday.
An own goal from Joel Matip was shortly followed up by a disastrous piece of defending that allowed Craig Dawson to fire home from close range on his first start for his new club and double the hosts' lead inside 12 minutes.
While Jurgen Klopp's side once again failed to find their groove on their travels as they spent much of the first 45 minutes wrestling Wolves for a share of the ball, they did lift their performance levels somewhat considerably after the interval as Mohamed Salah, Cody Gakpo and Darwin Nunez all tried to trouble Jose Sa between the sticks.

But Julen Lopetegui's men were able to punish Liverpool when Ruben Neves completed an impressive counter-attack to seal all three points.
For the Reds, their fourth defeat of 2023 in all competitions sees them now lie 11 points off the Champions League places with 18 Premier League games left of the season. Even with their pedigree in recent years, it's difficult to see how even Klopp's mentality monsters could turn their fortunes around with a collective slump within his squad obvious.
Things don't get any easier domestically either, with visits of Everton and Manchester United to come in their next six league matches. While last season's Carabao Cup and FA Cup winners also face the task of venturing to St James' Park to lock horns with high-flying Newcastle United, who had to settle for a 1-1 draw at home to West Ham United this evening.
Here's how Liverpool's next six league fixtures compare to those in and around the European places.
