Wage bill reduced
Challenging for multiple trophies every season while keeping the wage budget down is a difficult task but one Liverpool are managing extremely well.
According to Companies House, the Reds wage bill has reduced from last season to this.
Instead of signing multiple high-profile players in the summer transfer window, Liverpool have opted to be frugal in the market and switched their attentions to rewarding those in-house.
This has seen an £11million in wages but the team still in contention to win the FA Cup, UEFA Champions League and the Premier League having already lifted the Carabao Cup.
Alexander-Arnold silences doubters
Liverpool’s slender 1-0 win over over West Ham United saw defender Trent Alexander-Arnold once again provide an assist for his side.
His contribution in the game once again proved just how valuable the England defender is to Jurgen Klopp’s system.
Now Klopp admits he has been left bemused that there are still questions being raised about his No.66's ability to defend.
Jota decision the right one
Liverpool’s recent shrewd transfer dealings has seen the side maintain their title challenges while dealing with injuries.
One of the players who has stepped up when called upon is Diogo Jota.
Jota was a 2020 signing from Wolves and has proven to be a bargain, even at £45million.
Defender Ki-Jana Hoever departed in the opposite direction at the same time and, having struggled at times recently, his time at Wolves may be over.
