As much as Liverpool supporters will be excited about what new players Darwin Nunez, Fabio Carvalho and Calvin Ramsey can offer in the coming months and years, the club made its best signing of the summer on Friday - Mohamed Salah.
The Egyptian signed a new three-year contract at Anfield, putting an end to a prolonged spell of speculation. Salah's previous terms were to run out at the end of the coming campaign, meaning there were fears over him possibly leaving on a free transfer next summer.
Now the focus will turn towards the new season and with Salah's future secured, the first-team squad and manager Jurgen Klopp will no doubt be boosted when they rock up for the first day of training after a much-needed break.

Salah contract clause
It has been widely reported that Salah's new deal will make him the highest-paid player in Liverpool's history, with the 30-year-old set to pocket a weekly wage of £350,000.
The terms of his deal mean that Liverpool have managed to keep Salah's salary within their wage structure, meaning that the aforementioned amount is only available should a number of bonus stipulations be met.
It means Salah will need to hit some undisclosed benchmarks in terms of appearances, performance and success if he is to take home the figure he wanted. However, given Liverpool won two trophies and were just short in the fight for the Premier League and Champions League, he clearly fancies his chances of adding more silverware to his haul.

Klopp makes Salah admission
Following the Salah announcement, Klopp has admitted the club could not afford to lose a player of such pedigree.
The forward won the Premier League Golden Boot last season along with Tottenham Hotspur's Son Heung-min, while he also topped the assist charts ahead of team-mate Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Klopp said that he was delighted to have his star man secured to fresh terms and insisted there is still better to come from the 30-year-old over the next three seasons.
"I have no doubt Mo’s best years are still to come," said the German coach. "And that’s saying something, because the first five seasons here have been the stuff of legend.
"Fitness-wise, he’s a machine – in the most incredible shape. He works hard on it and he gets his rewards. His ability and his skill level gets higher each season, and his decision-making has gone to another level also."

Elliott opens up on new number
Liverpool youngster Harvey Elliott has said he is keen to follow in the footsteps of some other Reds greats following his recent change of number.
Elliott will don the number 19 next season, the shirt worn by Sadio Mane when he first came to the club. The latter eventually switched to the number 10, although that shirt is also vacant this summer after Mane left Liverpool to join Bayern Munich.
Elliott will not take the iconic number 10 yet, but believes his new jersey also holds a significant status at Liverpool.
"Obviously the number became available, some great players have worn it in the past – the likes of Sadio and the list goes on," said the midfielder. "I think it was an opportunity to get down the ranks in terms of the numbers, and for me personally it's a wonderful number.
"I remember having a Sadio shirt with the number 19 on it as a kid. So to be able to wear it after him, it's a great pleasure."
