Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has issued an update on Mohamed Salah 's contract negotiations with the club.
The Reds forward's current deal expires at the end of next season leading to fears he could be set to depart the club. But Salah is believed to be on the verge of agreeing a new deal that would keep him at Anfield until the end of his career and Klopp has now spoken about the ongoing talks.
It comes as the Reds manager has recalled the life-changing phone call which started his Liverpool journey. And the Reds have been handed a double injury boost ahead of a huge week for the club's season.

Double injury boost
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has been handed a double injury boost ahead of what could be a crucial week in the club's bid to win a historic quadruple.
The Reds beat Watford 2-0 on Saturday to keep the pressure up on Premier League title rivals Manchester City ahead of their crunch match at the Etihad on Sunday. But they must first negotiate a tricky Champions League quarter-final tie at Benfica – where Trent Alexander-Arnold and Naby Keita could return after both took part in training on Monday.
Klopp recalls job offer
Jurgen Klopp has recalled the phone call that started his journey with Liverpool.
The German was on holiday with his family in Portugal when he got the call from Liverpool, and recalled the conversation he had with his agent as he prepares to return to the country for Tuesday night's Champions League quarter-final against Benfica. Klopp revealed that as soon as he told his sons of Liverpool's offer "the decision was made".
And six-and-a-half years on, Klopp has spoken about how the job offer came about.
Salah contract update
Jurgen Klopp has said there is still "nothing new to say" amid Mohamed Salah's ongoing contract negotiations with the club.
Recent reports have suggested Salah is close to signing a new deal that would keep him at the club for the rest of his career, with his current contract set to expire at the end of next season. The Reds are keen to keep hold of their star man, who has 20 goals and 10 assists in 28 Premier League games this season, and want to tie him down to a new deal as soon as possible.
But Klopp has said the two parties are still locked in talks with Salah yet to officially sign on the dotted line.
