It ended up being a rather busy few days for Jurgen Klopp as the January transfer window came to a close.
In came Porto's Colombian winger Luis Diaz, and Fabio Carvalho was also close to sealing a move to Anfield, spending the remainder of the season on-loan with Championship side Fulham, before the deal fell apart in the final minutes.
Out went Nat Phillips as well, who joined Bournemouth on loan – where he will challenge Carvalho for promotion to the Premier League.
Diaz will have to earn his place in the Reds' first XI, however, despite impressing in Portugal.
It comes as Jurgen Klopp was forced to make a deadline day compromise, with the Liverpool boss' dream line-up for the rest of the season now revealed.
Here are Mirror Football's latest Liverpool headlines.

Klopp's dream line-up
Luis Diaz's arrival at Anfield certainly adds competition for places in the Reds' starting XI.
Diaz will add a notable goal threat for his new side after registering 14 goals and four assists for his former side in 18 Primeira Liga appearances this season.
But his arrival will mean one or more of Liverpool's front-line could fall down the Anfield pecking order.
Klopp already has Mohamed Salah, Diego Jota, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino vying for a starting spot, not to mention the likes of Divock Origi, Takumi Minamino and Harvey Elliott also in the first-team conversation.
And the Colombian winger's arrival means Klopp now has a different dream line-up.
Transfer compromise
With the transfer window deadline counting down, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was forced to make an undesired transfer compromise.
Klopp and Nat Phillips had agreed the defender would be leaving the club this month.
But with no club meeting the Reds' £15million asking price, hopes of a permanent deal were scrapped on the last day of the window.
The loan proved Klopp is a man of his word, after promising Phillips he would get his wish to prove himself elsewhere.
Diaz's Liverpool competition
Luis Diaz will have one extra player he'll have to overtake in the Anfield pecking order – after Takumi Minamino reportedly refused to leave the club in the January transfer window.
The Japan international is said to have stated his determination to stay and fight for his place in the Liverpool team despite Diaz's arrival leading to speculation he could be shipped out elsewhere.
Leeds United were reportedly interested in signing the forward, who spent a successful loan spell at Southampton in the second half of last season.
But Minamino reportedly still believes he can contribute at Anfield – and is ready for the challenge ahead.
