Klopp's honest assessment
Jurgen Klopp admitted Liverpool's defeat at the City Ground was a "massive blow" after recent results. The reverse leaves the Reds five points adrift of the top four, and the gap would have been bigger had Chelsea and Manchester United not drawn in Saturday's late game.
"[I'm feeling] as low as possible," the former Borussia Dortmund boss said. "Massive, massive blow because I have no idea how we can lose this game to be honest. Not that we played exceptionally well, not that I expect that but it would have been nice.
Liverpool had a number of chances to score, with Virgil van Dijk squandering a number of opportunities and Mohamed Salah going close. Forest's on-loan goalkeeper Dean Henderson made a big impact as well, recording a second successive clean sheet.
Carragher's questions
Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher was left baffled by the performance in Nottingham, with the Reds' senior players surprising him in particular. Joe Gomez and Virgil van Dijk started at centre-back, with Fabinho in front of them, but Carragher was calling out for the return of injured defender Ibrahima Konate by full-time.

"Liverpool were awful, what is going on with Fabinho?" the pundit asked on social media. "Konate is needed back ASAP!"
The 44-year-old did save some praise for the victors, who have tightened up at the back with just two goals conceded across their last four games. "Steve Cooper has changed Forest in the last few weeks to be a lot harder to beat, tactically very good again today," Carragher said.
Thiago hospital drama
Spain midfielder Thiago was a big loss for Liverpool on Saturday, with the former Bayern Munich man absent with an ear infection. The 31-year-old was forced to dash to hospital in the early hours of the morning before the game, and Jurgen Klopp shed some light on the situation.
"Thiago got this last night, a bad ear infection," Klopp said. "There was no chance for him to do anything. We drove him home.
"The decision was taken at 5:15am. He woke up in the middle of the night and had the problem. I woke up an hour later, but the decision was taken the moment he woke up and the doctor went there and they went to the hospital."
