Liverpool's dismal defeat to Bournemouth served as a serious setback to their ambitions of securing a top four spot in the Premier League.
While the attention of those of a Reds' persuasion was on the Vitality Stadium, the crisis engulfing Match of the Day was also at the forefront of supporters' minds. Reds boss Jurgen Klopp strongly backed Gary Lineker in his battle with BBC management.
Klopp's backing of Lineker came as Steve McManaman fumed over his side's performance against the Cherries and Jude Bellingham dropped a hint over his summer transfer plans. Here, Mirror Football rounds up the latest Liverpool news.
Klopp backs Lineker boycott
Jurgen Klopp has sent his backing to Gary Lineker following his suspension by the BBC. Lineker tweeted his opposition to the Conservative government's new Illegal Migrants Bill and was subsequently stood down from his role as Match of the Day presenter.
But the broadcaster has faced a furious backlash to that decision, with a swathe of presenters, pundits and commentators pulling their availability to the BBC. Now, Klopp has added his voice to those backing Lineker.
He said: "That is the world we are living in, everybody is so concerned with doing things in the right manner... if you don’t do that then you create a s***storm. I'm not native, but I cannot see why you would ask someone to step back for saying that."

McManaman slams "terrible" Reds
Liverpool icon Steve McManaman has slammed his former club for their "terrible" performance against Bournemouth. The Reds slipped to defeat at the Premier League strugglers, leaving McManaman furious.
"I thought they were terrible today. Contrasting fortunes for both teams - everything Liverpool did well last week when they won at Anfield was completely the opposite today," he told BT Sport.
"They were lethargic, they were slow, they moved the ball sideways so many times, there was no urgency to go forwards. Defensively, five clean sheets, they looked as if they couldn’t play again today."

Bellingham delivers transfer boost
Jude Bellingham appears to have delivered a boost to Liverpool's hopes of signing him in the summer transfer window. The England international is the Reds' top target as Jurgen Klopp bids to overhaul his midfield options.
But Liverpool will not be the only side chasing his signature come the summer, with Manchester United, Real Madrid and Manchester City all also interested. Bellingham, though, appears to have handed a boost to Liverpool's hosts.
That comes in the form of the Borussia Dortmund star laughing off suggestions he will move to United. A fan taking a photo asked him "Are you gonna come Man U?", Bellingham then moved away, chuckling before replying: "No. Don't be silly."
