Liverpool news: Jurgen Klopp addresses Mo Salah selection amid form concerns

Ahead of their match on Sunday afternoon, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp and his Man City counterpart Pep Guardiola agreed that they have the best rivalry in the Premier League.

Klopp also used his pre-match press conference on Friday to correct a reporter over a question asked to Guardiola as the pair opened up on their feelings about each other ahead of the game at the Etihad.

Klopp is not short of options with likes of Luis Diaz, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane all available.

Klopp has addressed suggestions Salah could be axed for the crunch game despite his know how in such outings. He said: “Yes, big game experience helps, definitely. It is not the only important thing you consider when you make a line-up but it’s one of these."

Klopp defends Guardiola

While in a jovial mood during Friday's Man City press conference, Klopp did hit back at a reporter over a questioned asked to Guardiola.

The City boss responded sarcastically when asked if he overthought tactics and line-ups ahead of big games, most notably in the Champions League. When the question was put to Klopp, whether or not the former Barcelona boss did tinker too much on the big stage, the Reds boss responded bluntly and told the media the City boss was being 'ironic.'

"We have really a responsibility on this planet. If you want to talk to us [managers] then do me a favour and help us [by providing context]. He (Guardiola) said ironically 'I overthink things' or 'I like overthinking things'," said Klopp.
