Liverpool new home kit 2023/24 unveiled as Nike reinvent a classic

Liverpool and Nike have unveiled the new home kit for the upcoming 2023/24 season.

The club say the kit pays homage to Bill Shankly and the legendary Reds manager's final season in charge at Anfield. For the next campaign, the iconic kit from the 1973-74 season, that saw the Scot's side scoop the FA Cup, has been reimagined.

Its classic design sees the bright Liverpool red with white contrast collar and cuffs which will be debuted in the final home game of the season against Aston Villa.

A change compared to previous years sees the Hillsborough Memorial logo printed on the back of the neck. Following the death of Andrew Stanley Devine, this season's kit saw the 97-emblem encased by the eternal flames at the nape of the neck on the inside of the shirt for the first time following his death in July 2021.

Speaking on the kit, Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson said: "The new home shirt is a classic. Given the inspiration behind the design it feels iconic and a nod to the history of this great club. We’re looking forward to wearing it at Anfield for the Villa game."

Women's vice-captain Taylor Hinds added: "We’re always proud to wear the LFC jersey. It’s always exciting to see the new design and when it has a link to the history of this club it makes it even more special. We’re excited to wear next season."

The skipper features in the campaign video launched by the club alongside teammates Mohamed Salah, Darwin Nunez, Luis Diaz, Virgil van Dijk, Ibrahima Konate, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Andy Robertson, Harvey Elliott, Fabio Carvalho, Cody Gakpo, Joel Matip and Stefan Bajcetic.

Matt Beard's Women's side feature as part of the launch with Missy Bo-Kearns, Fuka Nagano, Hinds, Shanice van de Sanden, Katie Stengel and Leanne Kiernan.

One of the features of both stadium and match jerseys is Nike's Dri-FIT technology and in line with the Red Way sustainability programme, both on-the-pitch and replica kits are made with 100% recycled polyester fabric from recycled plastic bottles.

Following on from what was introduced last year, a new Liverpool name and number style for the back of the kit, which also takes inspiration from the city, with a contemporary take on Liverpool’s historic street signs will remain available for order. The product is printed with water-based inks as a more sustainable option and will be worn for cup competitions and friendlies.

As with previous seasons, the club is offering a 10% discount off the price of the home shirt to all LFC official members and season ticket holders. This is also available for UK key workers via Blue Light and Network and students via Student Beans. More information on eligibility and how to redeem the discount can be found here.
