Liverpool can move within one point of Manchester City on Wednesday night with a win over Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.
The Premier League title race has taken yet another turn, as Crystal Palace did Liverpool a huge favour on Monday by holding the league leaders to a goalless draw at Selhurst Park. Tempers were flaring as the final whistle blew, and Liverpool have the opportunity to really mount pressure on City with a win against Arsenal.
Just 58 days ago, City were 14 points clear of Liverpool, but Jurgen Klopp's side have been urged to "hurt" the league leaders following their slip up on Monday, by former Red Jamie Carragher.
Liverpool face a tough test at the Emirates on Wednesday, but they have the perfect incentive as they can move within one point of the league leaders, with a trip to the Etihad still yet to come before the end of the season.
The Premier League was almost written off two months ago, but Liverpool are oozing confidence, and their boisterousness is making the Champions wither. But it means nothing yet as City still have the advantage, and Carragher has set his former side a challenge, as he has told Liverpool to "hurt" Pep Guardiola.
Carragher said on Monday Night Football: "I do feel the next game against Arsenal is absolutely huge. I think if Liverpool win away at Arsenal, physiologically that would really hurt City.

"Arsenal away and Manchester City away are the two big problems in Liverpool’s fixture list. Manchester City watching at home, Liverpool win at Arsenal, and go within a point and then they play Watford, you expect them to beat Watford."
Liverpool have a good recent record against Arsenal, but the Gunners are chasing a top four spot and have won their last five Premier League games in a row. However, Liverpool's record is even better as they have won their last eight in the league, making important ground on City.
MNF co-host Gary Neville also hinted that he believes that the wind is in Liverpool's sails, and thinks that their options going forward could be the difference in the title race this season. Neville added: "Liverpool are really dangerous. They look really dangerous.

"They look really dangerous. I just look at those five strikers that they’ve got and going into the last part of the season knowing that you can win an awful lot of football matches with those five up front, whereas City don’t have that same luxury in attacking areas."
And Liverpool will be hoping to capitalise on Arsenal's defensive woes, as their 2-0 win against Leicester on Sunday was their first clean sheet in four matches. Although they continue to win, they do let themselves down with their defending, and two goals conceded against relegation threatened Watford put a dampener on what was otherwise a brilliant 3-2 performance.
Liverpool are the Premier League's top scorers this season (73), and only one side has managed to stop them scoring, as Leicester secured a 1-0 victory at the King Power Stadium. But Mohamed Salah missed a penalty in that game, something that could come to haunt Liverpool later this season.
