Liverpool midfielder Harvey Elliott has praised Newcastle United forward Alexander Isak for his performance during the Magpies' 2-1 defeat in August. Newcastle's club record signing marked his debut with the opening goal in the 38th minute, before having another ruled out for offside.
Roberto Firmino levelled proceedings just past the hour-mark and Fabio Carvalho clinched all three points for the Reds with a dramatic 98th minute winner. Elliott has been reflecting on Newcastle's previous visit to Anfield and was particularly impressed by Isak.
“This is the goal, it’s a great finish to be honest. He was lively that day as well. He was very good. It was very disappointing on our behalf,” Elliott told Liverpool's official YouTube channel.

Isak added his second Premier League goal in the 1-1 draw against AFC Bournemouth in mid-September but has been unavailable since sustaining a thigh injury during the last international break.
Newcastle have been unbeaten since their only defeat of the 2022/23 season against Liverpool - a run stretching eight league games (W5, D3).
The Magpies have climbed into the top four with five victories from their last six games, while Callum Wilson has shone in Isak's absence, with four goals and two assists in his last six appearances.
