Curtis Jones is close to agreeing a new contract as Liverpool continue future-proofing their midfield options.
Jones' current deal doesn't expire until the summer of 2025 but the Reds have offered new terms to the 21-year-old, who has come through the ranks at the Academy.
Liverpool are mindful of the fact midfield trio James Milner, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita are all at present due to leave at the end of the season when their contracts expire.

Teenager Harvey Elliott, a regular for the Reds this season, penned a new deal in August. And while Liverpool will also look to strengthen the engine room during forthcoming transfer windows - they have a long-standing interest in Borussia Dortmund's Jude Bellingham and have previously been tracking Konrad Laimer of RB Leipzig - boss Jurgen Klopp continues to have faith in Jones.
The youngster has endured a difficult campaign with injury problems restricting him to just seven outings, only two of which have been starts.
Jones made his first-team debut in the FA Cup defeat at Wolverhampton Wanderers in January 2019 before appearing in the League Cup and Premier League later that year. A Champions League debut followed in October 2020, with the England under-21 international having so far made 81 appearances for Liverpool while scoring eight goals and providing 10 assists.
Klopp revealed last week Liverpool are also in talks with Roberto Firmino over a new deal that will extend his Anfield career beyond its scheduled conclusion in the summer. Since the end of last season, the club have also agreed new contracts with Mohamed Salah, Joe Gomez and Diogo Jota, along with a 12-month extension for James Milner.
