Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp gears up for 'final after final' ahead of Nottingham Forest tie

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has revealed that they plan to approach their upcoming matches as "final after final" ahead of their FA Cup quarter-final against Nottingham Forest.

After winning last month's Carabao Cup final, Liverpool still have the possibility of winning a quadruple. Alongside the upcoming tie in the last eight of the FA Cup, the Reds have also advanced to the same stage of the Champions League and are four points behind Manchester City in the Premier League table.

A rearranged midweek league match against Arsenal is the most immediate issue on Klopp's agenda tomorrow (Wednesday), as they aim to cut the gap between the top two to just a single point. Once that is out of the way, though, Forest are the next side with an opportunity to dash those quadruple dreams, when they meet at the City Ground on Sunday.

The Liverpool manager spoke about their approach at a press conference on Tuesday morning. “We reached a quarter-final in two competitions, and in the Premier League, we are not in the worst possible spot," said Klopp. “It’s a long finish, but we will give it a go and see what happens.

“It is final after final after final after final after final after final that we play. That is how it is. That’s how we prepare, how we set it up.“

Klopp continued: "What kind of different situation could be there out there? That we are 10 points ahead and 10 games to go, and everyone tells you you are through and asks where the celebrations will be?

“I tell you what, that feels really uncomfortable – not that it happened often in my life – but it is really uncomfortable to sit in that situation. Now everything is in front of us: attack it, chase it, go for it.”

The Liverpool manager has also been boosted by the return of top scorer Mohamed Salah to training this week.
