Liverpool make Marco Asensio 'offer' as Joao Felix transfer warning issued to Jurgen Klopp

Attention will soon be turning to the summer transfer window.

With only a couple of months remaining in the season, Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool will have plenty of decisions to make regarding incomings and outgoings as preparations for the 2022/23 campaign begin.

Fabio Carvalho is one player expected to be targeted, having missed out on the Fulham star last month on deadline day.

What?

Real Madrid midfielder Marco Asensio has reportedly received offers from both Arsenal and Liverpool.

The 26-year-old is out of contract next summer and will soon be faced with a decision on his future.

Los Blancos will be keen to avoid losing Asensio on a free transfer but could face issues over agreeing an extension as the Gunners and the Reds are understood to be willing to double his pay, in comparison to what Madrid are prepared to pay him.

“Asensio has two offers from the UK and his contract expires in 2023," said journalist Eduardo Inda.

“If Real Madrid don’t renew him, he will leave for free in 2023. He has an offer from Arsenal and Liverpool.

“Madrid have offered him the same, €4.5million, and would renew him for four years with an incentive of €1.5m in variables.

“He has told the club that the English are offering him 50% more than what Madrid are offering him. Madrid will not reach that figure because we would be talking about €7m.”

What?

Former Liverpool midfielder Steve McManaman believes Atletico Madrid forward Joao Felix is not 'good enough' to play for Jurgen Klopp's side.

The Reds have tentatively been linked with the Portuguese star in the past, who signed for Diego Simeone's side in a deal worth £113million.

Felix has been unable to hit the heights expected of him during his stay in Spain and McManaman believes pursuing a transfer move is not in the Reds' interest.

"I don’t think he’s good enough to play for Liverpool from what I’ve seen and I don’t know who else would take him," he said.

"If he was €30 million, someone would take a chance on him but there’s no way, from what you’ve seen, that someone’s going to pay a lot of money for him to bring him to the Premier League. If anything I think he’d stay in Spain or go back to Portugal."

Raphinha

What?

John Barnes is of the view that Leeds United midfielder Raphinha would be an ideal fit for Liverpool.

The Brazilian midfielder has been performing to a high standard in a struggling side this season, scoring nine goals and registering two assists in the Premier League this season.

It has been suggested that Raphinha could move on from Elland Road this summer, with Anfield a potential destination for the 25-year-old.

Barnes, an admirer of the former Rennes star, is hopeful a deal can be done.

“I could see Raphinha playing for Liverpool more so than any other team because of his dynamism," he said.

"Manchester City would look for a more technical player, but because of the way Liverpool play it will suit him.

“Leeds fans would want him to stay, but if a big offer came in, he would leave.”
