Although signs point towards a quiet month in the transfer window for Liverpool, we've seen in previous years that they have been pretty shrewd to quietly get deals done quickly if the right one is available.
January moves for Takumi Minamino, Ozan Kabak and Ben Davies in the last two years all came about quickly with little speculation about a move before the club would officially announce the signing.
But while a move for marquee signing is unlikely, you cannot rule Liverpool out of getting deals done less than two weeks to go this month.

A number of younger players have been linked to the club - players who could be bargains for Liverpool to pounce on now before their value increases before the end of the season.
Here's a few of those in the latest transfer rumours involving Jurgen Klopp's team.
Who?
Fulham attacking midfielder Fabio Carvalho
What?
The 19-year-old is set to become a free agent at the end of the season, with Liverpool said to be eyeing a move for the Fulham attacker.
Carvalho has made an excellent start to the season, scoring seven goals in 16 games from midfield.
The English-Portuguese teenager has been linked with a host of Premier League sides, with a bidding war set to ensue once he becomes a free agent.
But Football Insider have reported that Liverpool are considering jumping the queue and making a move this month, with Express also adding that the club could launch a £5 million bid.
Although a free agent, Bosman ruling will mean that whoever signs the teenager will have to pay a fee to Fulham.

Who?
PSG winger Ismael Gharbi
What?
PSG's most exciting young prospect not named Kylian Mbappe could be on the move this year, as reports coming out of France suggest Ismael Gharbi is frustrated with his situation at boyhood club PSG.
The 17-year-old winger has emerged as one of France's most talented teenagers, impressing for PSG's youth sides whilst attracting interest from teams across Europe.
And after being frustrated with his lack of progression, Gharbi is reportedly eyeing a move away from the club, with Liverpool and Chelsea both racing for his signature, French journalist Fabrice Hawkins reported.
Hawkins added that Liverpool have a proposal on the table to Gharbi, one that could see him immediately progress to the first-team.
Klopp has progressed a number of Liverpool academy players into his squad, most recently Harvey Elliott, Tyler Morton and Kaide Gordon being in the Premier League.
Who?
Liverpool centre-back Nat Phillips
What?
The Express have reported that West Ham are still considering making a January move for Nat Phillips, who is free to leave Liverpool this month.
The 24-year-old is now the fifth-choice centre-back at Anfield after Ibrahima Konate was brought into the club in the summer.
Phillips performed admirably for the Reds last season, when manager Klopp had a centre-back crisis after losing Virgil van Dijk, Joel Matip and Joe Gomez to injury.
But the Liverpool boss will allow Phillips to go this month, with reports of £12 million being enough to secure his signature, with PSV also interested in making a move.
