Liverpool loanee Neco Williams bags stunning Fulham brace in reminder to Jurgen Klopp

Jurgen Klopp might not get around to watching it until at some point in the early hours of Wednesday.

But whenever the German does manage to locate his iPad or a member of his coaching staff forwards on a clip of it, he will surely be producing one of his trademark wide grins.

On the night Liverpool were busy booking their place in the quarter-finals of the Champions League, Anfield's very own Neco Williams notched a superb goal as Fulham maintained their charge towards the Championship title.

The defender has been in superb form since signing on loan for the Cottagers, helping them to six wins in his seven league games.

Can Williams make an impression on the Liverpool first team next season? Let us know in the comments

And the Wales international really upped his performance levels on Tuesday night, scoring not once but twice in a resounding 5-1 win away at Swansea City.

Williams' first goal was a tap-in to make it 4-1 and he was joyful at notching his first-ever league goal.

But just a few minutes later he was celebrating his second - and it was some strike.

The ball fell kindly to Williams on the edge of the area and he chested it before pulling the trigger and seeing the ball fly beyond a helpless Andrew Fisher in the Swansea goal.

The speculative strike came just days after Williams almost scored a goal of the season contender in the weekend win over Blackburn Rovers.

That occasion saw Williams pick up the ball in his own half before trying his luck with an audacious effort that beat Rovers' goalkeeper Thomas Kaminski only to agonisingly bounce back off the crossbar.

In the aftermath of that near-miss, Williams told the Athletic : “I saw the goalkeeper off his line and there is no harm in trying!

"I tried and unfortunately it hit the bar and didn’t go in. Maybe if I try it again next week it goes in.

"I could hear Harry Wilson screaming that he wanted it but I think because I hit the bar he’ll let me off!

"Just a bit lower then it would have been maybe goal of the season! But I’m still waiting for my Fulham goal."

It turns out the 20-year-old would not have long to wait to break his duck and his brace contributed to the Cottagers' latest win in what is proving to be an outstanding campaign.

The contest was actually evenly-poised up until the 42th minute when Swansea's Ryan Manning was shown a straight red card for a foul on Wilson.

Goal machine Aleksandar Mitrovic then notched his 35th strike of what is proving a record-breaking season when he fired Fulham in front just after the restart.

An own goal from Ben Cabango doubled Fulham's lead before Bobby De Cordova-Reid made it 3-0.

Joel Piroe pulled one back for the hosts before Williams' quickfire brace secured a 23rd win of the season for Marco Silva' side. Incidentally, former Liverpool man Wilson chipped in with two assists.

Williams has been praised for his attitude and commitment since arriving at Fulham. He is now starting to add goals to his game - and that bodes well for Klopp and Liverpool once he returns in the summer.
