Liverpool loanee Nat Phillips deployed as emergency striker in late Bournemouth comeback

Liverpool secured a fourth straight win in the Premier League, beating bottom side Burnley on Sunday.

It trimmed the gap on leaders Man City back down to nine points, with a crucial game in hand for Jurgen Klopp's side.

Midfielder Fabinho struck the only goal of the game at Turf Moor in the first half.

But what about the players away from Anfield this season? Liverpool sent a clutch of players out on loan this campaign, with many plying their trade in the EFL.

Here, Mirror Sport runs the rule over those out on loan and checks in on how they got on over the weekend.

Which of these players will go on to become a first team regular at Anfield? Let us know in the comments

Nat Phillips

After a nightmare debut for Phillips at Bournemouth - beaten by non-league Boreham Wood in the FA Cup - he's helped the Cherries bounce back and record successive Championship wins.

They came from behind to beat Blackpool 2-1 on Saturday. Phillips played the full 90 minutes in what proved to be a thrilling afternoon at Bloomfield Road.

Scott Parker's side had a rotten first half when Dominic Solanke's awful penalty was easily saved by home stopper Daniel Grimshaw. Josh Bowler's strike then put the hosts 1-0 up.

It looked like a miserable day for Phillips' men but they pulled off a superb late comeback with Jamal Lowe and then Siriki Dembele stealing the points.

And Phillips even finished the game as an auxiliary centre-forward. Parker said of the tactical switch-up: "We've made numerous changes during the second half and it's worked, but there's loads of times it doesn't and that's the way it is sometimes."

Neco Williams

Welsh defender Williams notched an assist in Fulham's 1-0 win away at Hull City on Saturday.

Just before the hour mark, Williams was allowed far too much space and picked out goal machine Aleksandar Mitrovic. The Serbian made no mistake as he nodded home the goal's only game and his 31st league goal of what is promising to be a record-breaking season.

Williams played the full 90 minutes and even scooped the man of the match award from Fulham's official website. Not a bad afternoon for the 20-year-old.

Ben Davies

Davies recently returned from a lengthy lay-off with Sheffield United, but he had to be content with a place on the substitute's bench for Saturday's goalless draw away at Huddersfield Town.

Sepp van den Berg

The Dutchman helped Preston seal a gritty 1-0 win away at Championship strugglers Peterborough United.

Cameron Archer notched the game's only goal to move Ryan Lowe's side into the top half.

van den Berg has now helped North End record four back-to-back clean sheets. He put in some big blocks against Posh and helped the side get over the line as they continue their impressive start to 2022.

Paul Glatzel

Striker Glatzel scored in Tranmere's midweek win over Swindon Town - his sixth goal of the campaign.

But he was forced to sit out their 1-0 defeat at Walsall at the weekend with an injury. He will be hoping to return for Tuesday's game at Hartlepool.

Jake Cain

Cain's Newport County were involved in a thrilling 3-3 draw at home to Oldham Athletic.

Unfortunately, the Reds' youngster wasn't in the thick of it as he was an unused sub.
