Liverpool loan star Neco Williams sent seven word message after Fulham performance

Liverpool defender Neco Williams made quite the impression on Tuesday evening, after scoring two brilliant goals for Fulham in their 5-1 demolition of Swansea City.

Williams joined the Cottagers on transfer deadline day and has been a prominent fixture in Marco Silva's team since his arrival, making seven appearances to date.

But after scoring two goals for the West London side last night, including a brilliant second strike from outside the box, the 20-year-old has earned the plaudits of teammate Tim Ream.

The American international has posted an Instagram story featuring Williams celebrating his second goal, with the caption: "This guy only wants to score worldies."

Williams first goal for Fulham arrived in the 77th minute, when a clearance off the goal line fell into the Welsh international's path, before he drilled the ball home from about 10 yards out.

But his second - five minutes from full time - was a moment to saviour.

When a headed Swansea clearance fell to him on the edge of the box, the fullback controlled the ball with his chest before hitting a first time volley into the top corner of the net.

Fulham manager Marco Silva said after the win: “Fantastic, but he deserved it. He almost had an amazing goal last Saturday that showed his technical quality.

“His first goal was really important, he was the player to jump in the press, he wanted the ball, and he scored.

“And his second was fantastic. The way he received the ball and then it was a fantastic strike. He deserved it, and I have to congratulate him.”

Williams himself added: “If you don’t shoot, then you won’t score! Today, obviously, I took my chances and scored. Luckily I got two goals and not just one.

“I came so close in the last game but this game I got my goals, I’m happy and I’m just relieved.

“The first one [goal] happened quick. It was just quick thinking. I knew there was obviously players in front of me and I just tried to squeeze it in.

"Luckily, it’s gone through a couple of legs and a few deflections but it is a goal and all of them count.”

Williams moved to Fulham on loan in January after being unable to dislodged Trent Alexander-Arnold from Liverpool's regular right-back position.
