Liverpool Q&A - Mohamed Salah contract, next transfer latest, Jude Bellingham plans

Liverpool’s preparations for the 2022-23 campaign are set to get under way with initial sessions in Kirkby today before the tour of Bangkok and Singapore that starts next weekend.

Fabio Carvalho and Calvin Ramsay will be among the 19 senior players who will be assessed by Jurgen Klopp and his coaching staff over the coming days. A number of Liverpool’s players have been given extra-time off by the club.

However, the big news from the club dropped on Friday when it was confirmed that Mohamed Salah had signed a new contract. The Egyptian’s contract had been set to expire in the summer of 2023, however, he has now agreed a new three-year-deal to commit his future to the club until 2025.

It has been suggested the forward will earn roughly £350k a week, a significant rise on his current deal, reported to be worth £200k a week, to become the highest-paid player in the club’s history. The ECHO understands that the 30-year-old will indeed earn less than £400k a week, with his new deal heavily incentivised so he could earn more based on player performance.

Our Liverpool correspondent Paul Gorst will be around this afternoon to discuss the latest Liverpool news, Salah’s new contract, pre-season and the club’s summer transfer business. Head to our comments section below to discuss all the latest with Paul….
