Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard has broken his silence on what his managerial ambitions are amid links with the vacant Poland job.
The former Reds captain admitted that he is enjoying spending time with his family after a whirlwind five years in the managerial hotseat. Gerrard started with the Liverpool U18s before making the switch up north to Rangers in 2018.
During his spell with the Gers, he restored their place at the pinnacle of Scottish football ending Celtic's long-standing dominance in the Premiership. He made the jump to the Premier League in 2021 but was relieved of his duties after 40 matches.

The midfielder has been out of the dugout since October when he was sacked by Aston Villa following a poor run of form and he was subsequently succeeded by Unai Emery.
Gerrard was a part of BT Sport's coverage of Liverpool's encounter with Chelsea, in a rare television appearance since his time in the Midlands.
"I wish I still was," he joked after being asked about Jurgen Klopp's 1,000th game in management and being a Premier League manager.
"I think when you’re around the pitch, in the stadium, you see the teams come in, you speak to Jurgen, you get that buzz of a feeling of a matchday - I don’t think I’ll ever lose that or not want to be involved in that.
"I am enjoying it at the moment being around my family, watching football. I’m enjoying being back here today stress free, but I think if you love the game and you’ve got it in your DNA you’re always going to miss it.", he said
Initial reports emerged to suggest that the 42-year-old was among the contenders to take charge of the Poland national team. Fabrizio Romano said: "Discussions between Steven Gerrard and Poland are ongoing. [They are] Waiting for his final decision but it’s being considered, as reported by Polish press earlier in the week.
"Polish FA will speak again to Gerrard in order to proceed with discussions."
Although in recent weeks, Poland Football Association chief Cezary Kulesza has hinted that their next managerial candidate has "led a national team".
He said: "The candidate is from abroad. I would like the decision to be made today or tomorrow, but it depends on the other party.
"The most important criterion was whether he had previously led a national team."
Should he move into international football for his third management role, his first match in charge could come during the March internationals where they face the Czech Republic and Albania.
