Liverpool John Lennon Airport issues advice to LFC fans heading to Paris

Liverpool John Lennon Airport has issued advice to LFC fans heading to Paris for the Champions League final this weekend.

On Saturday, the Reds will go up against Real Madrid for the chance to become European Champions. Jurgen Klopp's side will be hoping to lift the trophy for a seventh time on Saturday after their last success in Madrid in 2019.

Between 50,000 and 60,000 supporters are expected to travel by coach, train, plane and boat to the final at the Stade de France. For those travelling by plane, Liverpool John Lennon Airport has issued advice about travelling times.

In response to a question on Twitter about how many hours people should arrive before their flight, a Liverpool John Lennon Airport spokesperson said they recommend arriving two to two and half hours before. They said: "We are recommending arriving two to two and half hours before departure.

"If checking in bags plan to arrive no more than 2 hours before departure as bag drop wont be open." LJLA also previously urged fans to consult the latest entry requirements that anyone travelling to France must follow.

The country has been plunged into lockdown three times, and some restrictions were recently reintroduced after cases rose steadily again. What you must do before entering France depends on your vaccination status.

Fully vaccinated travellers aged 12 and above must provide proof of vaccination status on entry to France. France will accept the UK’s proof of Covid-19 recovery and vaccination record at the border.

As of March 31, travellers from the UK aged 12 and above who are not fully vaccinated need to provide a negative PCR test result taken within 72 hours or an antigen test result taken within 48 hours pre-departure.

All children under 12 are exempt from covid travel restrictions in France. Liverpool John Lennon Airport has gone all out today to welcome LFC fans heading to Paris.

The airport has decorated with balloons, banners and lights for the big occasion.
