Passengers at Liverpool John Lennon Airport have been issued advice for the busy festive period.
The airport is expecting its busiest festive period since 2019, with no Covid-19 restrictions to contend with. As schools break up this week, many families from the region will jet off for some winter breaks, while others from the region will fly away to meet friends and family for Christmas.
Business levels are still recovering from the pandemic and the airport is expecting to serve around 75% of the level that it did before Covid. As such, around 120,000 passengers will pass through the terminal over the festive period.

Flights will be operating to 52 destinations over that period, with airlines easyJet, Ryanair, Wizz Air, Loganair, Lufthansa and PLAY operating from the airport. Management at the airport have reminded passengers that restrictions on liquids carried in hand luggage are still in place and to think carefully about what items they are intending to pack in hand luggage, before they set off for the Airport - especially those who are travelling with presents for friends and relatives.
To help keep security queues to a minimum, passengers are being asked to travel with their presents unwrapped if they are to be carried in hand luggage.
Robin Tudor, head of PR for the airport said, “This Christmas and New Year period is expected to be our busiest since pre-covid and it will be great once again at this time of year to see thousands of passengers from across the region taking advantage of the convenience of flying hassle free from Liverpool.
"We pride ourselves for being faster, easier and friendlier, but would like to remind all passengers to always allow plenty of time when travelling to the airport, come prepared and think carefully about what they are carrying in their hand luggage.”
