Liverpool in TRIPLE Rangers injury boost as Andy Robertson among trio in line for Anfield clash returns

Liverpool could have key trio Andy Robertson, Ibrahima Konate and Jordan Henderson all back in time to face Rangers on Tuesday as injuries begin to ease up for Jurgen Klopp and his team.

The Reds have suffered from a stunted start to the season and already trail league leaders Arsenal by nine points - albeit with a game in hand to come. Injuries certainly haven't helped their cause with Henderson, Konate, Robertson, Diogo Jota and Joel Matip among the stars who have missed a number of games already.

Things were beginning to ease up for the Reds just before the break. Jota and Matip both started the Champions League win over Ajax that saw them bounce back from an opening day humbling against Napoli, while two postponed clashes with Wolves and Chelsea allowed for some much-needed rest. A number of reports south of the border now say they will be in a much stronger position when their season resumes with the double-header against Brighton and Rangers.

French defender Konate was a key player for them towards the end of last season but is yet to kick a ball this term with a knee problem. The Times say he is now back and available to Klopp, and while the German may be tempted to stick with the dependable Matip alongside Virgil van Dijk for Saturday's clash with Brighton, Konate - who started both legs of last season's Champions League semi-finals as well as the final in Paris - could well start against Gio van Bronckhorst's team.

Liverpool skipper Henderson meanwhile has been out since the start of September but he was nearing his return before the break and came off the bench for England against Germany, suggesting he'll be ready to go. That just leaves Robertson, who missed Scotland's successful international break, but is also believed to be verging on a return.

Of the trio, Robertson looks the least likely to be involved against either Brighton or Gers. But This is Anfield expect him back in "early October" - which could well be in time for the visit of Rangers to Anfield on October 4.
