Liverpool ignite 'fierce' Jude Bellingham Chelsea transfer race amid £100m Thomas Tuchel puzzle

Chelsea could be set to lock horns with Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United this summer for the transfer of Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund. The 18-year-old has been subject to growing interest from a handful of Europe's leading sides as he continues his development at the Signal Iduna Park.

He featured 31 times for the German giants in the Bundesliga this season, directly contributing towards eight goals from the heart of midfield. Bellingham has quickly grown into the cornerstone of Dortmund's success, with his impressive displays steering the club to new heights.

According to Goal, Jurgen Klopp is a fan of the England international, whose contract at Dortmund expires in 2025. However, it's said that Liverpool are aware of the 'fierce' competition that could arise, with Chelsea among several potential suitors lurking in the shadows.

The report adds that the west Londoners have lodged their interest in Bellingham, however Dortmund could outline a £100m asking price. Goal claim that the Englishman would likely commanded a salary that would place him among the highest earners, if he were to leave the German side.

Chelsea's interest in the midfielder follows various problems at Stamford Bridge which can be seen emerging in the horizon. Jorginho and N'Golo Kante each see their deals in west London expire next summer, with Mateo Kovacic, Mason Mount and Ruben Loftus-Cheek set to leave the following year.

Bellingham embodies the profile of player that Thomas Tuchel typically enjoys in midfield; proficient throughout the thirds, good final product, a ball-carrier and physically dominant. By potentially beating title rivals to his signature could only hand Chelsea a huge boost.

But, regardless of whether the west Londoners sign Bellingham this summer, the Blues boss is keen to undergo a rebuild at Chelsea. Speaking to football.london, Tuchel said: "We are rebuilding, not improving the squad. We are rebuilding. This is always challenging, but we are up for the challenge.

"I don't know where we are from day one. What I can promise is that I will be here – if I can promise that – I will be here with full energy and positive energy no matter what. We will still work for Chelsea, and I refuse to think of negative scenarios. We will be competitive, on which level we will see."
