A Liverpool hotel has been celebrated for its excellency after winning a top award.
The Visit England Awards for Excellence aim to celebrate the "very best of English tourism", recognising standards across the country. On Wednesday, June 7, after dozens of businesses were announced as finalists, the winners were announced.
Applications for the awards were put forward for judging from businesses including hotels, self-catering accommodation providers, B&Bs, glamping operators, visitor attractions, restaurants, pubs and museums.
And it was Liverpool's Titanic Hotel that came out with an award for the "Large Hotel of the Year". Competing against Wiltshire's Bowood Hotel and County Durham's Rockliffe Hall Hotel, Liverpool's Titanic Hotel came out on top with a gold award.

Based at Stanley Dock, the four star Titanic hotel is based in a converted 19th-century warehouse, and boasts a restaurant, which is open for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner, and a bar that's open until late. There's also an indoor pool and a spa, as well as conference spaces.
The hotel previously celebrated after being named one of the 100 "best places to stay in Britain for 2023." The Times and Sunday Times compiled a list of hotels up and down the country that offer excellent service, impeccable atmosphere and décor, and value for money.
Elsewhere in Merseyside, St Luke's Bombed Out Church CIC was shortlisted for the Resilience and Innovation Award as the team also brought home a gold award. Over in Southport, the Sunnyside Guest Hotel House celebrated their bronze award for Band B Guest House of the Year.
Announcing the finalists back in April, VisitEngland Director Andrew Stokes previously said: "This impressive list of finalists demonstrates the innovation and excellence thriving across England’s tourism industry. The quality and number of applications also highlights the outstanding range of products and experiences on offer for both domestic and international visitors."
