Liverpool receive major injury boost as Ibrahima Konate update issued
Ibrahima Konate has handed Liverpool a significant injury boost as he gets set to return to full training. The centre-back is yet to feature this season after picking up a problem in the 3-0 friendly defeat to Strasbourg at the end of July.
The muscle injury has seen Konate miss eight games and two months in total but the 23-year-old is now getting ready for contention once more after the non-internationals reported for duty at the AXA Centre this week.
The former RB Leipzig man has been cleared to make his comeback after continuing his rehab programme during the international break and could be in line for a recall to a squad that also has Virgil van Dijk, Joel Matip, Joe Gomez and Nat Phillips to call on at centre-half.

Why Liverpool forward Diogo Jota asked to be substituted during Portugal defeat to Spain
Liverpool forward Diogo Jota has revealed he asked to be taken off during Portugal's UEFA Nations League defeat to Spain due to fatigue.
The 25-year-old made his first start of the season away to Everton at the start of September, having missed the first month of the campaign due to a hamstring issue that was aggravated during pre-season. Jota has since featured in Champions League games against Napoli and Ajax before reporting for international duty.
Involved in a win against Czech Republic on Saturday evening, the former Wolves star got on the scoresheet despite only featuring for 24 minutes. Selected from the off in a 1-0 defeat by Spain on Tuesday evening, Liverpool's No.20 was replaced with 12 minutes remaining and has since explained the reasoning behind his requested withdrawal.
