Liverpool handed boost as Naby Keita returns to training ahead of Nottingham Forest clash

Liverpool have been handed a major boost ahead of Saturday’s trip to Nottingham Forest.

Seemingly back on track after two consecutive Premier League wins, Jurgen Klopp’s side can move level on points with Manchester United in fifth with a victory at the City Ground.

After such a difficult start and for all the talk of this perhaps being the end of a cycle at Liverpool, moving into touching distance of the top four would represent real progress, following up the morale-boosting win over Manchester City with something tangible.

In a further boost for Klopp, the injury crisis to have derailed the opening few weeks of the season appears to be subsiding.

Curtis Jones made an appearance off the bench during Wednesday’s win over West Ham, while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain returned to the match day squad for the first time this season.

Naby Keita, meanwhile, was pictured in training on Thursday as Klopp prepares to take his side to what looks another winnable game at Nottingham Forest.

The midfielder, like Jones, has not featured since the Community Shield win over Manchester City and provides another option as the games continue to come thick and fast.
