The midfielder, who only turned 18 in October, has forced his way into Liverpool's starting XI in recent months and has been a rare bright spark in what has otherwise been a disappointing campaign for the Reds so far. Real Madrid squad for Liverpool announced as Karim Benzema decision made
Karim Benzema has been included in the 24-man Real Madrid squad that will host Liverpool in the Champions League at the Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday evening.
Carlo Ancelotti's side hold a three-goal advantage heading into the Round of 16 second leg, after they came back from from 2-0 down at Anfield to stun the hosts with a remarkable 5-2 away win.
Ballon d'Or holder Benzema had been considered a doubt for the reverse fixture this week, after being forced to sit out Madrid's LaLiga fixture against Espanyol at the weekend with an injury. But the French international striker is back in the fold to face the Reds, with Carlo Ancelotti confirming in a press conference on Tuesday that his forward is "100 per cent recovered".
The 35-year-old had also been a doubt ahead of the first leg, but started the match, going on to score twice, as Los Blancos built up a healthy three-goal lead on the night.
