Leeds United's hopes of Premier League survival were handed a timely boost as Liverpool defeated Leicester City 3-0 at the King Power Stadium.
Leicester were the last of the relegation-threatened sides to play in this round of games, but were unable to do their chances any good as Jurgen Klopp's Reds cruised to victory. After a tight opening spell, the visitors took control with two quickfire goals from midfielder Curtis Jones.
The hosts switched to a more attacking formation in the second period, but rarely threatened Alisson in the Liverpool goal. And while Dean Smith's men tried to close the defecit, it was the visitors who extended their leads thans to Trent Alexander-Arnold's well-taken free-kick.

The result means Leeds United stay 18th in the Premier League table, a point behind Everton, three points off Nottingham Forest and a point ahead of Leicester. Leeds' goal difference of -25 is better than Forest's -31 but Everton (-24) and Leicester (-18) have a slight advantage on that front.
Leeds travel to London to face West Ham on Sunday (1.30m), before entertaining Tottenham Hotspur at Elland Road on the final day of the season (Sunday, May 28, 4.30pm).
