Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson sends Nottingham Forest warning ahead of Premier League clash

Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson has warned his teammates that Nottingham Forest will be looking to show a ‘response’ in their fight against relegation when they travel to Anfield.

Forest make the journey to Merseyside on Saturday (3pm kick-off) looking to end a run of 10 Premier League matches without a win. However, they will face a Liverpool side full of confidence having put six past Leeds United on Monday night.

Steve Cooper ’s side will be looking to take points in order to climb out of the relegation zone, while Liverpool have their own objectives of making a late push for the Champions League positions, just as they did two years ago. Looking ahead to the game at Anfield, Alisson is expecting a response from Forest following their 2-0 loss against Manchester United at the City Ground.

“We have a different opponent now in front of us. They have their goals, they need to reach their targets,” he told Liverpool’s official website . “We have ours as well.

“We come from a game where we found our way back and they come from a game they lost. They want to show a response, for sure, for their supporters, for themselves.

“But we are focused on things that we need to do and prepare as best as we can to get on the pitch. It's a home game, it's always good to play [there], to have your supporters there helping you. I hope Anfield will be on fire on Saturday afternoon.”

Allison’s comments come as Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp urged his side to back up the win over Leeds with another positive result.

“The challenge now is to build on this," Klopp said. "I don’t know where it will lead to. It’s super important what happens from now on because if it goes on, there will be a next season.

“We played a really bad season but some things are not really to explain and some definitely are and are not acceptable. We have to understand what is possible. I just want us to play top football and win games and we will see where we end up."
