Liverpool have officially announced that back-up goalkeeper Adrian has signed a one-year contract extension at the club.
The ex-West Ham United shot-stopper arrived on Merseyside in 2019 and has been a part of Jurgen Klopp's squad that has won three major honours since then.
Adrian's most famous moment in a Liverpool shirt came back in his first season at the club when he was part of the side that beat Chelsea to win the UEFA Super Cup on penalties.
The Spaniard was not part of the departures list, along with the likes of Roberto Firmino, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita, that was released last month, so a new deal had been anticipated.

However, in recent seasons he has fallen behind Caiomhin Kelleher in the pecking order to become the club's third-choice goalkeeper, often watching on from the bench in the cup competitions he used to regularly feature.
This does not phase the 36-year-old, who recently said to The Athletic: "I have a great relationship with the manager and the club. We’ve been in talks and we’re really close."
“I know the situation and my role in the squad. Everyone wants to play and have minutes on the pitch, but you also need a big squad with good people who will commit everything every day in training.”
The last of Adrian's 26 appearances for Liverpool was in the 3-1 Community Shield victory against Manchester City last August.
