The father of Alexis Mac Allister has admitted he expects his son to not be representing Brighton by the time next season begins.
Mac Allister's reputation has grown massively in the last year, having previously been somewhat of an understated figure within the Seagulls' side. After helping Roberto De Zerbi's side challenge for European football this term, in addition to winning the World Cup with Argentina, the 24-year-old is now a highly sought-after player.
Liverpool are among the sides to have been linked with a move for the impressive midfielder, which could perhaps become a greater possibility following the news Jurgen Klopp's side have exited the race to sign Jude Bellingham.

Although Brighton will be reluctant to offload Mac Allister, it seems a decision on his future has already been taken by his dad. Carlos Mac Allister, who also serves as the agent for his son, participated in a revealing interview when discussing what he expects of the summer transfer window.
"Normally the next transfer window will find him playing for another institution", he told Bolavip. "We don’t know which one, we are just starting talks in general, but it is most likely that Alexis will be playing for another team next July.”
Looking further down the line, Mac Allister's father added a return to Argentinian giants Boca Juniors - a club Brighton's No.10 spent the 2019/20 season on loan at, could one day be on the cards.
"Surely Alexis will return to play in Boca at some point," he said. "Today he is just beginning his career in Europe, but on the way back and when he decides to settle in Argentina again, he will surely want to play in Boca - even if it is for a while - to finish thanking and demonstrating the level that it can have in a club of this nature in Argentina."
