Liverpool offered new European qualification route by Manchester United
Not often can Liverpool supporters be found cheering on Manchester United.
And, in truth, they probably weren't on Sunday afternoon when the Old Trafford giants moved their way into the FA Cup final with a penalty shootout win against Brighton & Hove Albion at Wembley, but defeat for the Seagulls was, actually, good news for the Reds. Well, at least in terms of improving their chances of European football next season.
Seven places are available to English teams. Anyone who finishes in the top four of the Premier League are guaranteed to qualify for the Champions League - after United were dumped out of the Europa League by Sevilla on Thursday night - therefore removing the prospect of Erik ten Hag's team finishing fifth place down and still taking one of the Champions League places as Europa League winners.

Liverpool could land midfielder with €100m release clause for bargain price
Liverpool continue to be linked with a plethora of midfielders ahead of their planned summer revamp of the engine room - with their decision earlier this month to step away from a potential move for long-term target Jude Bellingham only increasing that speculation and uncertainty.
Wanting to sign at least two midfielders, Chelsea's Mason Mount has emerged as the new priority.
However, the Reds have been repeatedly linked with players such as Conor Gallagher, Matheus Nunes, Ryan Gravenberch, Joao Palhinha, Alexis Mac Allister, Moises Caicedo, Nicola Barella, Ruben Neves, Youri Tielemans, Teun Koopmeiners and James Maddison.
Another name has also re-emerged in those transfer gossip columns and the Reds are reported to be among the sides to have been monitoring Yunus Musah - who plays for Valencia - throughout this campaign.
