Liverpool forward Cody Gakpo is one of five players sent home after an outbreak of a virus in Holland's international squad.
Gakpo has been struck down by an illness sweeping through the Dutch party ahead of their Euro 2024 qualifiers at France on Friday and home to Gibraltar on Monday.
Newcastle United defender Sven Botman, Bayern Munich's Matthijs de Ligt, PSV Eindhoven midfielder Joey Veerman and Anderlecht goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen - this week linked with Liverpool - have also left the squad.

While the virus is yet to be determined, sources in Holland have stated it is not coronavirus. Reports later indicated a chicken curry eaten by the players may be to blame.
Gakpo was a breakthrough star for his country at the World Cup earlier this season, scoring three times in the group stage as the Dutch went on to reach the quarter-finals before being eliminated by eventual winners Argentina on penalties.
Liverpool will assess the health of Gakpo before allowing him to return to training, with Reds players not on international duty reconvening at Kirkby at the start of next week to begin preparations for the Premier League visit to champions Manchester City on Saturday.
Gakpo joined Liverpool from PSV Eindhoven in January in a deal that could eventually cost £44million. He has started 13 of 14 games for the Reds since arriving, and has four goals in his last five Premier League outings.
