A former Liverpool FC star chef has lifted the lid on what it is like to cook for Premier League footballers.
Dan Jolley is the talented chef at the helm of the luxury CDJ Darwen restaurant in Lancashire. The 34-year-old previously worked as the head chef at LFC where he cooked for the players and also oversaw the culinary operation for the 11,000 hospitality guests that attend every home game at Anfield.
Dan was a popular figure with the members of Jurgen Klopp's side and claimed the players demanded he return when he had to stop cooking for the club for a while. He told our sister site LancsLive: "But then the players kicked off and said they wanted me back.".

The chef stepped away from the club amid concerns as he claimed he received death threats after Loris Karius' high profile error in the 3-1 Champions League final defeat to Real Madrid in 2018. He added: "I carried on working there for a year, and then the [2018] Champions League final happened. [Loris] Karius got blamed for the final and I started getting death threats through my Instagram.
"At first people were saying stuff like 'it's your fault, you feed him too much butter and that's why he dropped the ball'."
The chef built up close relationships with several members of Jurgen Klopp's side and revealed Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain even asked him to become his personal full time chef. He told LancsLive: "I said 'I can't do that' but then I got a second player."
Dan still maintains contact with the Reds' stars and revealed Mohamed Salah texted him about visiting the CDJ restaurant. He is also still close with Oxlade-Chamberlain and has even received an invite to his high profile wedding with Little Mix star, Perrie Edwards.
He said: "I've got a really good relationship with all my clients. I'm going to Alex's wedding." Dan shared some of the secrets of how he caters for footballers who need to follow a strict diet to remain at full fitness. He said: "Anyone who's in football has to follow a fitness regime but they do that because they have to so once a week they get a treat like a chocolate dessert, usually the day before a match, because it gets them excited and gives them a boost."
