Liverpool FC's Thiago Alcantara travels to former club to celebrate special event

Liverpool FC star Thiago Alcantara has enjoyed a trip to Munich to celebrate Oktoberfest.

The midfield maestro played for Bayern Munich from 2013 - 2020 before he signed for the Reds for £20m. The 31-year-old has endured an injury hit campaign so far as he was forced off with a hamstring complaint in the opening game of the season against Fulham.

However, he made a triumphant return to the starting XI as he put in a player of the match performance in the dramatic 2 - 1 win over Ajax in the Champions League. Thiago is now able able to enjoy a long break before LFC's next game against Brighton as he has been left out of the Spain squad for the upcoming international fixtures.

Thiago has travelled to his former home city during the break alongside his wife, Julia Vigas. The happy couple donned traditional Bavarian attire to celebrate the festivities of the world renowned beer festival.

He captioned the post: "Always a Bavarian. München Oktoberfest."

Former teammate Manuel Neuer commented: "Looks good my friend!"

Fans flooded the comments to agree with the goalkeeper as they looked forward to his return to Merseyside.

Thomas added: "Very adorable couple. We adore your beautiful classy outfit."

Tobi posted : "Legend."

Oko said: "Lovely couple, get plenty of rest, don't get injured again, and hurry back to Liverpool. The fans miss you!"
