Liverpool FC's Mo Salah gets festive ahead of Aston Villa clash

Mo Salah appears to be getting into the festive spirit, as he shares snaps with his family dressed in matching Christmas Eve pyjamas.

The Liverpool FC forward shared the adorable photos with his millions of Instagram followers on Saturday, as they laughed and smiled in front of their Christmas tree. The pictures showed Mo with his wife Magi, and their daughters Makka and Kayan, in matching checked pyjamas.

Captioning the post on Instagram, Mo simply said: "#MerryChristmas" with a Christmas tree emoji. In just a few hours, the social media update had amassed more than a million likes.

Fans flocked to the comments section to wish Mo and his family well. Lauren said: "I'll forgive the blue tree for the GOAT", while Charlie said: "Merry Christmas big man". A Reds fan account said: "All the best to you and yours".

It comes ahead of LFC's clash against Aston Villa on Monday (Boxing Day), and the Reds are set to be without a number of key players.

James Milner is likely to miss the festive campaign after suffering a hamstring injury during Thursday’s Carabao Cup defeat at Manchester City, a game Roberto Firmino missed after picking up a calf problem during training earlier in the week.

Luis Diaz, Diogo Jota and on-loan Arthur Melo are long-term absentees, and with World Cup finalist Ibrahima Konate and injured Curtis Jones not resuming training until next week, Klopp’s selection options have become limited ahead of the Boxing Day visit to Aston Villa. Salah is expected to start.
