There's no doubt about it, the 2021/22 season has been like no other for Liverpool Football Club. Carabao Cup winners, FA Cup winners, Premier League runners-up and another Champions League final under their belts.
On the morning of the last day od the season, the Reds still had the chance to win a quadruple of major trophies, it is barely fathomable. With that has come a wide range of top-level performers in Jurgen Klopp's team, helping to take this incredible team to new heights. But who has been Liverpool's Player of the Season?
ECHO readers have voted and as it turns out, the result is pretty close. The overall winner is Mohamed Salah, with a 31.7% share of the vote. The Egyptian, who was also declared Football Writers' Player of the Year, has scored an impressive 31 goals in 50 appearances for the Reds, winning the Premier League Golden boot with 23 goals - the same as Tottenham's Son Heung-min - and also providing 13 Premier League assists. It's no wonder Liverpool's number 11 has come out on top.
But closely behind Salah in the voting stakes is goalkeeper Alisson Becker. The Brazilian stopper has been in outstanding form all season, pulling off top-class save after save. Alisson also shared the Premier League Golden Gloves gong with Manchester City's Ederson - delivering no fewer than 20 clean sheets each.
That performance level has seen Alisson take an impressive 27.4% of the ECHO reader vote-share, with Sadio Mane - who enjoyed a strong second half of the season - coming in third with a 21.4% share.
Congratulations to Mo Salah. Let's hope him and all the other Reds take this time to rest, where they can, and come back stronger than ever in August.
