The heartbroken wife of a lifelong Liverpool fan has called on fellow supporters to pay tribute to him at the game against Newcastle United on Saturday.
Jamie Piercy, 27, died suddenly at Sunderland Royal Hospital on April, 13. The dad of two leaves behind his partner Chloe and two young sons Archie, six, and Harry, three.
Chloe Piercy, 26, told the ECHO: “Jamie followed in the footsteps of his late dad. He had always supported Liverpool.
"Even when they did not watch matches together they would sit on the phone and watch the game. He had a massive Liverpool collection, which had some kits that went back to the late 90’s."

When the County Durham lad went to Anfield for a stadium tour he was like a “kid in a candy shop”, according to his father-in-law. Chloe added: “He bought loads of things and he even got Archie a Liverpool wallet to keep his pocket money in.”
Chloe also told the ECHO of her unimaginable personal loss and its effect on the children. She said: “I have ups and downs but the kids have been a massive help and given me a sense of purpose.”
“The oldest [Archie] knows what’s going on, he talks about Jamie all the time. I think my youngest hasn’t realised that his dad isn’t coming home.”
The couple met in the North East when Chloe was 19 and Jamie was 20. The two married on July, 27, 2017 in picturesque Nessebar, Bulgaria. Jamie was born to parents Shaun and Elaine. He has three older siblings Peter, 37, Sarah, 35, and Shaun, 29.
Jamie’s dad Shaun died five years ago. Chloe said she had fond memories of Jamie and the two boys decorating his headstone with Liverpool souvenirs.
Chloe's friend Lyndsey Cook has shared a post on Facebook asking fellow supporters to clap on the 27th minute of Saturday's game against Newcastle and it has since been shared hundreds of times.
