Liverpool fans spot private jet schedule that drops huge Darwin Nunez transfer hint

Darwin Nunez is edging closer to a Liverpool switch and a possible flight chartering him to Merseyside has been scheduled for Monday morning, according to hopeful Reds fans.

The Benfica forward smashed the 30-goal barrier last term, putting himself firmly on the radar of Europe's elite. Liverpool look to have won the race for his signature after an agreement was reached with the Portuguese outfit. Nunez, currently in Almeria, needs to jet to Liverpool to finalise aspects of his deal.

And a potential route looks to have been cleared for tomorrow as fans have noticed a private flight has been scheduled going from Almeria to Chester at 10.28am on Monday.

The Uruguayan was left out of his country's last outing against Panama as he looked to finalise his next move.

Benfica and Liverpool were initially £8m apart in transfer negotiations. The Reds wanted to pay £60m plus add-ons whilst Nunez's current side wanted that figure to be closer to £68m. It looks as if they have met in the middle with a £64m fee agreed on.

A six-year deal is expected to be signed with the overall price of the deal expected to hit the £80m mark, which would make Nunez Liverpool's record signing - surpassing the fee signed to acquire Virgil van Dijk from Southampton back in 2018.

A report in the Sunday Times claims that the Reds put the wheels in motion for signing the Uruguayan striker when they took on Benfica in last season's Champions League.

Both Jurgen Klopp and Van Dijk are believed to have played important roles in persuading Nunez to move to Anfield as they directly talked to him during those matches back in April.

Manchester United were also keen on signing Nunez but were reluctant to get into a bidding war with their Premier League rivals. The player himself was also keen on a switch to Anfield rather than Old Trafford.

Nunez's imminent arrival is set to have knock-on effects for the Reds squad, with the Uruguayan adding to their forward line. It means the likes of Mohamed Salah, Diogo Jota, Roberto Firmino, Luis Diaz and Sadio Mane will all be competing for a limited amount of spots.

As a result, the latter has been linked with the exit door. Mane has 12 months left on his contract and Bayern Munich's interest has been backed up with an offer, which has been rejected. Club chief Hasan Salihamidzic has said: "Generally speaking, we're trying to strengthen our team.

"We're working on several options in attack. The transfer market is not easy, it always depends on the financial possibilities of the club. I don't want to talk about players of other clubs."
